On October 6, 2017, Carmeuse Lime & Stone’s Maple Grove plant, along with other area manufacturers and more than 900 Sandusky County Area High School freshman, attended the 3rd annual “THINK Manufacturing” Career Showcase at Terra State Community College as part of Sandusky County’s Manufacturing Day.
To create visibility for Carmeuse, as well as give back to the community as a corporate citizen, Maple Grove Plant representatives presented a poster board to the local freshman that briefly reviewed how lime is created from limestone and the various industries that utilize lime. Students were also shown the many different job opportunities available at Carmeuse and participated in a problem-solving activity to promote teamwork, where they had to work as a group to make a decision.
