On August 25, the Maysville and Black River Carmeuse team of eight people raised $4,048 for this year’s Relay for Life of Lewis-Mason County 2018 fundraiser. The event was held at the Lions Club Fairground in Tollesboro, KY. A total of 18 teams participated, and the Carmeuse team was the Silver winner, finishing in second place in terms of money raised.
For years, Carmeuse has been a supporter of Relay for Life Events. This year, each team had a Disney theme where team members were encouraged to dress up as iconic characters. Relay for Life brings people together to remember lost loved ones, honor cancer survivors and raise money to help the American Cancer Society find a cure for cancer.
