Exceptional Field Test scores were awarded to competition rookies Dakota Key of Georgia Team Thunder and Tom Savage of the Maysville Raiders.

The Luttrell Rangers, who represent Carmeuse’s Luttrell Operation, also participate in these competitions, but were unable to attend due to an unforeseen circumstance. The Rangers will join the other three teams in July at the National Mine Rescue Competition in Lexington, KY.
Competitions are designed for teams to learn, execute and maintain required mine site emergency rescue skills for trapped or injured miners. Challenges include a written skills test, hands on and written first aid tests, hypothetical problem-solving and a timed mock rescue observed by a panel of judges.
