The team from one of Carmeuse Lime & Stone’s Canadian plants, along with other partners in the community, donated the materials and labor for an outdoor classroom at St. Michael’s Catholic School.
This natural setting reinforces the idea of stewardship to the Earth while providing an environment for collaborative learning. Ken Zegers, Maintenance Manager at Carmeuse, directed the project from start to finish.
On September 28, 2017, an open house Barbecue and old-fashioned fall fair was held to celebrate the new classroom as well as the school’s 50-year anniversary.
