On Aug 8, 2017, employees from Carmeuse Lime & Stone’s Buffington plant donated and delivered backpacks and supplies for 30 children at the Boys & Girls Club in Gary, Ind.
Buffington employees Valorie Moore, Barry Lampkin, Derrick Gray and Letha Carriger delivered the backpacks and supplies to the children in person.
To ensure the children received what they needed, the Boys & Girls Club provided a list of recommendations according to the children’s ages before Buffington’s employees shopped for supplies.
Buffington has worked with the Boys & Girls Club before, having sponsored their return to school last summer. The employees will continue their partnership this winter as they sponsor an angel tree gift-giving event for the children.
