On February 22, the lack River Operations presented a check for $925 to the Augusta Independent School District &(AIS) in Augusta, KY, for the purchase of an automated external defibrillator (AED).
The school district requested a small donation to help them raise enough funds for the equipment, but officials at Black River decided to donate enough to purchase the AED. Maintenance Planner Kevin Blevins and Operations Manager Michael Klinda, presented the check to AIS nurse, Lou Ann Perkins. The school district will travel with the AED to sporting events and student activities outside the District.
