Carmeuse recently purchased a CAT simulator to train new employees before putting them on the job to operate heavy equipment. The simulator is initially in the Longview plant in Saginaw, Ala., but will move to various Carmeuse locations throughout the year. Operators are trained using state-of-the-art simulation technology, which is nearly identical to operating a million-dollar machine, along with classroom training.
