Longview Makes a Holiday Family Connection

As is the case in any large city, there are children at risk throughout greater Birmingham, Alabama area. But for many of these kids, help and hope are available thanks to the tremendous work of Family Connection, Inc. and, in some part, the donation of time and money that the Carmeuse Longview operation provides to Family Connection.

It’s official: Carmeuse operations at Cedarville and Port Inland have again selected The Bay Cliff Health Camp as their Foundation partner. The Port Inland and Cedarville operations have donating money and volunteering time to support Bay Cliff since 2010.

As with many of our facilities throughout North America, the employees of Beachville gladly chose the Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Ingersoll, Tillsonburg, and Area to become their Foundation partner. This organization works tirelessly to change and enrich the lives of children throughout the community.

Beachville Hair-Raising Event Nets $2,000 for Movember

At the beginning of last month, a team of male employees, from Carmeuse’s Beachville operation threw away their razors and started growing their moustaches for the duration of the month. Calling themselves “The Million Whisker Army”, the men were taking part in “Movember,” a movement to raise awareness of men’s health issues and the importance of regular medical and prostate examinations.

Maple Grove and Millersville Support WSOS

The After School and Summer Programs operated by WSOS Community Action Commission in Fremont, Ohio had one more thing to be thankful for recently when the Maple Grove and Millersville operations made their second annual donation to the program via the Carmeuse Foundation.
