This Year’s Big Night on the Farm the Biggest Yet

This Year’s Big Night on the Farm the Biggest Yet

This year’s Big Night of the Farm, presented by Carmeuse, raised a record $40,000 in aid of Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Shelby County, Alabama. Taking place on June 10th, the event at Helena Hollow featured fun for the entire family with live music from Back Porch Revival, as well as local food trucks, a mechanical bull and bounce houses, and a petting zoo.

“We are proud to continue our support of the Big Night on the Farm,” said Sybil Owens, Human Resources--Carmeuse. “This year’s was the largest yet with 250 people in attendance, raising crucial funds for the work of BBBS of Shelby County. A huge thank you to everyone who came out and supported the event.”

In addition to being the presenting sponsor, Carmeuse Longview employees also volunteered to help set-up and breakdown the event.

All funds raised go to supporting the work of BBBS of Shelby County and its mentoring program in Shelby County schools, where high school students volunteer as mentor ‘Bigs’ to elementary and middle school ‘Littles’. Funds will also help to secure plans for BBBS Shelby County to expand its mentoring program into neighbouring Chilton County next year.
