Carmeuse River Rouge helps kids get back to school in style

Carmeuse River Rouge helps kids get back to school in style

Thursday, August 3rd, was Backpack & School Supplies Donation Day at Carmeuse River Rouge, Michigan, in support of the city’s Get Ready for School Program. Organized by the City of River Rouge Municipal Offices, the program aims to ensure all children have the things they need to succeed in the upcoming school year.

“It’s our absolute favorite event of the year to participate in,” said Christy Burt, Human Resources at the River Rouge Plant. “It’s a joy to work with our home city to ensure the children in our community have a great start to the year.”

Supplies will be handed out at the Backpacks and Kicks Giveaway Carnival on August 25-27 at River Rouge High School. In addition to the giveaway, the event will feature carnival rides, photo booths, music from local DJs, and food trucks.
