Chemical Processes

Lime products are used in the manufacture of many different chemicals that are in turn used for the production of a multitude of consumer goods such as soap, glue, leather products, sugar cubes and more.

Technically speaking, as an essential part in chemical processes for these consumer goods, Lime products provide a source of calcium, alkali, desiccant, causticizing agent, saponifying agent, bonding agent, flocculant and precipitant, fluxing agent, glass forming agent, degrader of organic matter, lubricant, filler and hydrolyzing agent.

In addition to soap, glue, leather, and sugar previously mentioned, lime products are also used to manufacture calcium bleaches, calcium phosphate fertilizers, calcium chloride, calcium soaps, calcium citrate, sodium chloride, sodium carbonate, sodium hydroxide, magnesium oxide, magnesium hydroxide, and  gelatin and several organic chemicals.

Through these chemical processes, lime truly touches our lives every day, in a wide variety of ways.
